The Rogue was one of the original 8 rivers included in the 1968 Wild & Scenic Rivers Act. Its designation was prompted by the plans to construct a dam in Copper Canyon, if built, the dam would have put the town of Agness underwater. As of March 2019, this act protects 13,413 miles of 226 rivers in 41 states.
“The 104-Mile trip was the best part of our time in Gold Beach! Our guide was personable and funny, and lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge was some of the best BBQ we’ve had in a long time.”
